We’ve been shortlisted as BusinessGreen’s ‘ESG Investor of the Year’

We are thrilled to announce that Path Financial has been shortlisted in the BusinessGreen Leaders Awards’ ‘ESG Investor of the Year’ category. These prestigious awards seek to recognise and celebrate the top blue chips, innovative start-ups and inspiring sustainability leaders for their work in tackling the global, environmental crisis.

The year of 2020 has been a tumultuous, surprising and overall life-changing one. However, for all the havoc it has wreaked, it has also woken us up to the things that are most important – the safety of loved ones and the importance of a healthy planet. As a result, the public is growing more conscious of environmental well-being, and more demanding when it comes to change.

A large part of this cultural shift has involved people taking action into their own hands through positive investment – and rightly so. Especially when considering how the act of moving just £20,000 from a traditional fund to an impact portfolio can reduce carbon emissions by 16 tonnes per year. This is the equivalent of taking three petrol cars off the road.

But as we laid out in our award entry, while over 70% of individuals want their investments to contribute to environmentally-friendly causes, less than 10% of IFAs are discussing sustainable investment solutions with their clients. That’s why we take what we do so seriously.

We are not like other financial advisers. Every pound we invest helps to tackle climate change and, in doing this, we are forging a new route within the personal finance landscape. Our team of expert eco-advisors are rewriting the rulebook, and this nomination comes as welcome recognition for all their hard work.

Founder of Path Financial, David Macdonald, said:

We’re delighted to have been nominated in BusinessGreen’s ‘ESG Investor of the Year’ category. This is a very credible achievement in a hotly contested and reputable awards recognition process.

And, while this event does necessitate some healthy competition, it is an important reminder for all who take part that we are not alone in our collective mission to build a green economy and drive the nation toward its net zero goal.

The virtual awards ceremony will take place across October 14th & 15th. The shortlist can be viewed in full, here.
