More shortlisting success – this time with the BusinessGreen Leaders Awards 2021

We’re proud to announce that we’ve been shortlisted for three BusinessGreen Leaders Awards this year – ESG Investor of the Year, Small Business of the Year and our founder, David MacDonald, has been shortlisted for Entrepreneur of the Year.

The BusinessGreen Leaders Awards are one of the most respected sustainable business awards around, with the aim of gathering together and celebrating the UK’s top green executives, entrepreneurs, investors, campaigners, companies and political leaders in order to showcase the achievements of the green economy over the past 18 months.

And, as you can imagine with how demand for sustainable options is skyrocketing right now, the awards were hotly contested with lots of brilliant businesses and individuals coming forward to shout about the difference their service or product has made. In fact, it had over 300 entries, making it one of the strongest finals to date.

With that in mind, it feels like such a huge honour to be recognised not once, not twice, but three times in these awards, and sit alongside a number of other businesses that we admire in the process – such as WWF and Octopus Energy.

Since our inception in 2019, we have been forging our own path and redefining the traditional investment model in order to help more people align their money with their morals. We do this because we know it to be the most impactful thing one person can do to reduce their carbon footprint – more than any other lifestyle changes such as giving up flying or only eating organic, combined.

In these two years, we have also taken on a number of passionate and purposeful financial professionals from all across the country who each share David’s vision. As a result, we are now a team of 18 and we’re still growing.

Speaking about the brilliant news, David said:

I’m so proud of our team at Path Financial, whose hard work and dedication to bettering the planet through personal finance has been rewarded by the BusinessGreen Leaders Awards, with a staggering number of three award shortlistings.

Too many people are still unaware of just how much impact they could have through making this simple switch. For example, after just seven months of transferring one of our client’s pension portfolios to an impact-only alternative, their money saved an estimated 68 tonnes of carbon dioxide (the equivalent of taking 15 cars off the road), recycled 5.3 tonnes of material (the equivalent of over five households’ annual waste) and generated 39.6 MWh of renewable energy (enough to power 12 households). If that isn’t enough, then their portfolio’s performance also increased by 7.4%.

It’s results like this that show us exactly why the work we’re doing is so important and inspire us to keep going. Path Financial is going from strength to strength right now, and we welcome anyone who is thinking about making the move to join us on this journey.
